There are a lot of disparate keyboard articles, and this looks like the right place for a hub for them. Either that, or there should be two main articles, 'Alphanumeric keyboard' and 'Musical keyboard', pulling together the two main strands, and a mention here for all other uses of other types of keyboards. -- The Anome (The post to the left was put here on and by 11:02, 9 September 2003 (UTC) user:The Anomebot. when a band member plays the "keyboards" usually it is a Rhodes piano, isn't it ? --Melaen 16:39, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not really. "Keyboards" include any number of instruments including, but not limited to an electric piano.--Trweiss 20:20, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

10 September 2007 edit

[edit]

I explain why I removed one item:

Someone looking for a thumbboard will look for a thumbboard—it wouldn't be confused with a keyboard. Types of keyboards aren't necessarily susceptible to confusion. Neonumbers 12:30, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Instead of a disambiguation page, this page should probably be a general article about keyboards, but I don't think we have anything like that right now. Ewlyahoocom 13:29, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why the Keyboard is important

[edit]

The keyboard is the key to the computer it will give most commands to the chips inside a computer. When you hit a key on your keyboard you signal bits and bites. A bit is either a 0 or a 1. Bites are eight of these two numbers put together. These are the only signals your computer can read. The bits are put in a different order for every different command. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.8.90.174 (talk) 01:38, 21 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

'Keyboard's advancement in the modern English language; written and unwritten. Why is there no new form/word to describe the difference for 3 separate 'particular' (deviations) to keyboards?

[edit]

What is wrong with the English word keyboard? When describing the computer-based, Yes, we see the correlation. But, when we need to discuss the piano keyboard/ the electronic-based keyboard (aside from the computer) its easily misunderstood which to we're referring. Its there No suggestions/ objections to a change? Victorian7593 (talk) 21:46, 20 May 2021‎ UTC

Please describe the change you want made to the article. This is not the place to debate what is wrong with English. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 23:09, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone going to edit this topic?

Please do for I do not want to be the only one doing this! 2A00:23C7:31CB:A601:A487:97CE:4336:6A71 (talk) 11:00, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:disambiguation. The only addition that can be made to this article is if there is a new article about a completely different kind of keyboard. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 11:41, 28 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
