This entry says: In 1990, when Dr. Seuss died, Saturday Night Live parodied the poem by having him recite "Green Eggs and Ham".

I don't think that SNL reading was a "parody" at all. The tone and presentation were nothing like the Sesame Street poem. I thought the SNL scene was an homage to Dr. Seuss, performed with a straight face and beautifully read by Rev. Jackson.

That portion of this klisting seems a bit too glib. (Bill Reagan)

Shouldn't that better be in WikiSource? - Sid 17:12, 9 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

There is a fair amount of non-source text in it. -- user:zanimum

Copyvio removed

[edit]

Per WP:LYRICS, the extensive quoting of copyrighted poetry and song lyrics is considered a copyright violation and must be removed, so I have done so. The use of a few lines is acceptable but I'll leave others to decide which lines to use. If Jackson has released his poem to the public domain, then this needs to be clearly indicated in the article with a verifiable source. I doubt the lyrics quoted from the J.B.'s version is public domain, however. 23skidoo 00:37, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
