Ingalls Hospital in Harvey,Illinois is neglecting my 83 year old mother-in-law(she has dementia). The nurses have screwed up or ignored her on several occasions. She had a pacemaker installed last Friday and the leads on it are supposed to be checked at least once or twice per day, everyday. They waited 2 days before they checked them at all. Plus a nurse came in to check her blood pressure, turned on the machine and went to talk to the other patient in the room and her husband for an hour while leaving the wrap on my mother-in-law. I had to take it off myself. Then the nurse came to take her off a machine and pulled it away without unhooking my mother-in-law and yanked her arm hurting it.They have a rule that no person of the opposite sex can stay in the room overnight. My mother-in-law has been there since Feb 9th and my wife or her sister has stayed there every night with her to help her stay calm. Last night the other woman patient in the room wanted her husband to spend the night and they broke the rules and let him. He spent the night arguing with her and at 11:30 pm my wife had to get them to move her mom to a different room. Bluewolf1122 (talk) 13:55, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
