why does every have to be mean?
Defenders of the Frontier
[edit]I'm clearly sourcing the material. I thought you were supposed to give credit where it's due. I have a copy of the pamphlet if you want it scanned. If not, please don't vandalize the page. Sgt. bender (talk) 20:41, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- As the info is also included in the other source that is being used, and since that source is more authoritative and much more easily accessible for every Wikipedia reader, I have changed your source to the New York State Military Museum source. Fram (talk) 11:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
It's not just "sourced," it is lifted directly from their page, including the text "See sidebar" when this Wikipedia article has no sidebar. If you want to see the sidebar, go to the original:

'Reputed'
[edit]Reputed is given in the lede but it isn't followed up. The paper "The Other Mystery Shot of the American Revolution: Did Timothy Murphy Kill British Brigadier General Simon Fraser at Saratoga?" In The Journal of Military History 74(4):1037-1045 · October 2010. does investigate it saying that Murphy isn't named until 1845. Same paper casts doubt on the distance he was shot at.
