Three division periods

[edit]

The first three division period referred to is in fact not so. In the 1920s/30s the league went to three divisions for a short time, and in the late 40s/early 50s there was a spell of three divisions.

Will probably amend the article to reflect this sometime when I can be bothered.

Professional?

[edit]

Is this a fully professional league, semi-professional or amateur (doubt very much that it is amateur)? Thanks ... this relates to satisfaction of WP:ATHLETE for members of the league. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 21:11, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Years in etc

[edit]

Why is 1891-92 in Scottish football included as in 1894 and 1895 for both "years of football (soccer)" and "years in Scotland". Likewise 1892-93 in Scottish football. I would alter them to 1891 & 1892 and 1892 & 1893 except that I might be missing something. Not being a fan of the game, but I was browsing "years in Scotland" Hugo999 (talk) 06:50, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scottish Professional Football League

[edit]

It might be worth discussing name changes that will need done when the Scottish Professional Football League is formed in time for season 2013/14 in place of the Scottish Premier League & Scottish Football League as detailed at http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/aberdeen/229116-scottish-football-league-clubs-pass-league-reconstruction-vote/ obviously to actually do any name changes we would really have to wait until it has been formalised by the 42 clubs & when we know what the actual names of the leagues will be & the logo(s). I think it's obvious some of the changes, Scottish Football League First Division being a simple name change to the new name, same for Second & Third Division articles & the articles for those leagues for the upcoming season. The 2013–14 Scottish Premier League article also being a simple name change but what is debatable is the main articles for the Scottish Premier League & Scottish Football League, do we merge these into an article named Scottish Professional Football League or are these articles being kept for the leagues themselves, the SFL being the 3 lower leagues? Woah. I don't think moving the present division articles is a good idea. Essentially those divisions are ceasing to exist and are being replaced by a new structure. Wait a wee while before doing anything this time, please? Jmorrison230582 (talk) 13:29, 12 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Did I not just say "it might be worth discussing" & also included a question mark so I'm unsure where you read that I was going to do anything? (Lbarnett-bl (talk) 13:37, 12 June 2013 (UTC))[reply]
As regards the moving of articles, surely at least the article for 2013–14 Scottish Premier League & the corresponding articles for the SFL leagues would be a simple move as they do not reflect something in the past or present, they are about the upcoming season which will be under the new structure?
