Unless you're counting cards

[edit]

The article says "In the scene where Lt. Commander Data observes a couple playing blackjack, he advises a woman that "the odds favor standing pat" on her total of hard thirteen against a dealer's king up; the optimal play is to take a card." But that is only true if you are NOT counting cards. Data certainly would have the capability to count every card in the deck, and if he knew that the odds of the next card being a 10 or face card was very high, then his advice could very well be right. 50.46.109.40 (talk) 22:19, 21 January 2019 (UTC) Toby Nixon[reply]

Came here to say the same thing, four years on..! Scifiandotherthings (talk) 12:55, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But maybe he didn't count:

TEXAS: How'd you? Shut my mouth. Hey, you're not one of them card counting fellas, are you?
DATA: The number of the cards and their values remain quite constant. What would be the purpose in counting them?

Same set as for Vic Fontaine's club in DS9?

[edit]

The set for the casino looks the same as the one used in Deep Space 9. Compare to Badda-Bing Badda-Bang. Can someone confirm this? I imagine the set was used for lots of productions. 70.115.191.80 (talk) 09:11, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
