This is (dubiously) translated from the German-language article. Someone might want to take another shot at it. -- Jmabel 03:29, 15 May 2004 (UTC)
Moved from Wikipedia:Pages needing translation into English
[edit]- Elbe crossing 1 and Elbe crossing 2, originally in German, noted 2 May 2004, basically complete 15 May 2004
- We just need an accurate translation of the word "eckstiele" in Elbe crossing 1, the rest is basically OK. Cat 10:51, 4 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- I'd guess that's just "corner parts" (from ecke and teil), but the articles still read very poorly in English. It's not a matter of individual words... -- Jmabel 05:45, Jun 5, 2004 (UTC)
- No, that's not it. "Eck" is corner indeed, but "stiel(e)" is not something derived from "teil", and as far as I can tell, neither it has to do with "Stiel" in the sense of "stick". Looks like a technical, construction term to me. Moreover, I think (but you might disagree) that since the translation is completed, we should not worry about fluency here, but perhaps just move it on to cleanup and wikification. An article, once translated, even if poorly, will improve in fluency over time. Cat 12:47, 5 Jun 2004 (UTC)
