But please note that the GF II seems to be called just Gorch Fock (on the German Navy web site). In other places I have seen SSS Gorch Fock—she does not use the NATO prefix "FGS"! "SSS" probably means "Segelschulschiff". The "FGS" prefix is reserved for modern warships of the German Navy. I'd just refer to her as Gorch Fock; or maybe Gorch Fock (II), in places where confusions might otherwise arise. (They do the same on the German Navy web site!) Lupo 08:31, 9 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Gorch Fock (ships)

German tall ships. Ship type: Barque: square sails on fore and main mast; gaff rigged fore and aft sails on the mizzen.

• Tovarishch aka Gorch Fock I (article at Gorch Fock (1933)): Main article at GF I, Tovarishch as a redirect. Should also cover the other sister ships, which also would redirect to GF I. Or do separate pages on all or some of them?

• ESYS — most comprehensive site. Also covers all the sister ships. Note that JanMaat is more up-to-date, especially concerning the Tovarishch—ESYS doesn't cover the recent re-acquiry and planned rebaptising to Gorch Fock. Still a lot of useful info at ESYS.

• German Navy — official Gorch Fock (II) web site. Has info on her cruises, technical data, and history -> rewrite would make a good stub (will work on it, Kosebamse; done now, Lupo 13:28, 23 Jun 2004 (UTC)). No pictures, and anyway, the whole site is copyrighted. (Well, one nice picture [click on the "Über die Gorch Fock" link] actually that I (Lupo) would like to have. Maybe worth asking for permission?)
