If anyone is reading this, do you have exact info on when the name changed? I know it had to be some time between the two demos, but I'm not certain as to exactly when; the "Warriors of Doom" demo was recorded in '87 but released in '88, so it could be either year.

Have a look in the german wikipedia. It was 1987!--217.247.7.213 11:41, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Black / death ??

[edit]

I'm surprised that the article describes the band as death metal, and only death metal. I haven't heard all of their stuff, but 1) mainly anti-christian lyrics and 2) "bad" production (in the stuff I've heard) are typical signs of Blackness, to me. So, would anyone care to explain what makes them Death? Is there a consensus that they are indeed Death?--85.224.199.128 00:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're trying to go by features, whereas labels come from describing the generalized style. I'd just call them a gloomy Death Metal band (note that I'm using "gloomy" only as a descriptive adjective, while "death metal" is the noun. Therefore, no, I'm not creating Metal's 5,639,082,456,243rd new subcategory, made solely out of fans' opinions, rather than knowledge of music) —Ƿōdenhelm (talk) 07:09, 8 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Immolation.svg

[edit]

Image:Immolation.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Allmusic?

[edit]

It some strange arbitrary requirement of album articles in wikipedia that the reviewing party always be 'allmusic'? Immolation, I would speculate, are known as one of the finest death metal bands in history, but all their classic albums are given a mediocre 3/5 star rating by the folk at allmusic, who ever they may be... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 118.138.177.9 (talk) 03:01, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
