[edit]

The page needs serious widening and editing. Hope to find time for that. Just for start, I've made some edits using conventional English terms. Later I'll explain them with official Ukrainian names. AlexPU 16:31, 28 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Might want to work this in somewhere: Siberia Airlines Flight 1812. A2Kafir 20:52, 29 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Military industry

[edit]

Some of the discussion of military industry seems to be more appropriate for economy of Ukraine than this article. Michael Z. 2007-09-23 15:25 Z

Pakistan as foreign arms supplier

[edit]

I have added Pakistan in the international arms supplier as it has supplied a major part of Ukraines ammunition needs for its soviet era artillery systems. If theres a requirement for sources, here are some: Source:https://en.defence-ua.com/industries/pakistani_artilleri_rockets_for_bm_21_grad_mlrs_are_in_use_of_ukrainian_military-6188.html

Personnel numbers in infobox?

[edit]

Available and fit numbers are from 2015. Presumably ‘deployed personnel’ is a secret but is there no recent estimate reliable enough for the infobox? Chidgk1 (talk) 09:46, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is this still an issue? There now appears to be a 2023 number of 1,000,000 active personnel in the infobox, does that provide what you want? Note that while this number has a reasonable source, adding up all the numbers for the branches of the armed forces provides a total of less than 500,000, so there's still a serious issue with personnel numbers. Better than before thanks but I don’t understand why it says 2024 in brackets when the cite is from 2023. As constription changed in May this year https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cz994d6vqe5o 2024 numbers might be different so it is wrong to put 2024 in brackets. I will try and change. Chidgk1 (talk) 09:42, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As I suspected someone changed it back. Dunno how 168.205.131.146 can get 2024 numbers from a 2023 cite Chidgk1 (talk) 17:35, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There appears to be no mention of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine?

[edit]

There appears to be little to no mention of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, in the history section and also the opening section, despite its clear major significance.

Is there any reason for this? Would like to understand any nuances, before making an edit. Neutral Editor 645 (talk) 12:45, 13 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I made a small change to the lead. Wikipedia:Be bold Chidgk1 (talk) 16:26, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
