Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on ILOVEYOU. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.

About the *ILOVEYOU* computer virus

[edit]

The *ILOVEYOU* computer virus, sometimes called *Love bug* or *Love letter for you*, is a computer worm that effected over 10 million computers on and after 5th/May/2000. It started spreading around as an email with the subject line *ILOVEYOU* and the attachment *LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.Vbs* At the time computers hid the end of a extension(VBS, a type of interpreted file) by default because it is an extension for a file type that Windows knows, leading unwitting users to think it was a normal text file. 2A01:9700:11B4:5B00:1DCC:31DC:4A69:FAA5 (talk) 14:46, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect Date of investigation

[edit]

Under the Investigation section, it says the criminal case was opened on 5 May 1999, but the worm was released on 5 May 2000. The wayback of the citation confirms the same.

Sorry if this isn't the right place; it's locked for editing and this seems better than saying nothing. 65.129.92.11 (talk) 02:46, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Minor grammar mistake in the Background section.

[edit]

I'd like to request an edit in the Background section. There's a superfluous usage of the word "the" within the fourth paragraph.

"He claimed that this would allow users to be able to afford an internet connection, arguing that those affected by the it would experience no loss." DancingHaggis (talk) 16:49, 2 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
