four yorkshiremen sketch

[edit]

On the 1948 show dvd, TBT and John Cleese both say that Brook-Taylor essentially wrote the sketch, with JC changing the escalation of poverty. Is there a citation for all Feldman & Chapman co-writing?

lost sketches

[edit]

The 1948 show dvd shows that more than a few sketches did survive; ISTR that some tapes were found in Sweden, although the Bookshop sketch seems to have gone forever :(

Needs to be split into sections - currently a lot of text to read. Otherwise well on the way to GA status. Tim (Xevious) 11:41, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Honorary Vice-President of Derby County F.C." claim

[edit]

The original articleoriginal article (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tim_Brooke-Taylor&oldid=88541) claimed that he was "an honorary vice-president of Derby City Football Club." There is no such club. This was later changed to "Derby County", which is at least a real football club. However, there is no evidence from reliable sources that I can find that he ever held this position.

As the "citation needed" was added in September 2010 (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tim_Brooke-Taylor&oldid=386300408) and nobody has found a reference in the last 7+ years, I'm going to "Be bold" and delete this claim.

Death

[edit]

RIP; I have added the template. There is also a BBC NW source here - https://twitter.com/BBCNWT/status/1249306230537027584 But lots of people are editing at the moment so I don't want to create a conflict.

What the... refernecing???

[edit]

Seriously, "what the" whatever has gone on with the referencing? It confuses me. If it is automagically done, then sack that AI, please. I actually refuse to fix that. Perpetrator, please front up and fix this.- Peter Ellis - Talk 12:34, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This one's on me—appears there is an encoding bug in the Two Column Edit Conflict View beta feature which causes this, and it appears I'm not the only one who's had this problem. Apologies to getting in the way, and thanks to @Rich Farmbrough for quickly restoring those changes. --Heyitsstevo (talk) 12:46, 12 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Ah thanks for explaining. I guess that's why it's Beta. All the best: Rich Farmbrough (the apparently calm and reasonable) 12:49, 12 April 2020 (UTC).[reply]

Brooke-Taylor's death seemed to receive more coverage and attention in Australia than in Britain. Dolmance (talk) 14:11, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
