I'm removing the parenthetical note that the subject's parents were Spaniards from the Canary Islands. It is unsourced and, as far as I can tell, incorrect. Juan's father was born in Bexar; his mother, as best as I can tell, was born in Presidio la Bahia, and his paternal grandfather moved to Bexar from Coahuila.
