My first edit dates back to 14 Jun 2003 (under the 200.206.212.211 IP address, now attributed to my username), but I "officially" became a Wikipedian somewhere in the beginning of 2004. That makes a bit more than 1100 edits. My editing habits are a little hard to classify, but the thing I do the most are probably standardization of articles. Fixing concordance mistakes, formatting, adapting things, etc. Basically, what we seem to call "clean up" here. I also add content, of course, whenever I feel safe enough of what I'm saying. I also enjoy adding images to articles when I feel they could use one. Since I don't have English as my native language, I sometimes contribute to articles that deal with subjects that are closely related to the Portuguese language, or even Spanish.

I've considered the idea of becoming a sysop some time ago already, though I wasn't very sure, but since I've been here for quite a while, I could as well apply for this. The admin-only features will come in handy. The rollback feature sounds useful, since I've been spotting a good share of vandalism lately. Sure, I can just manually resurrect an older version like I've always done, but this sounds much easier and comfortable. Deletion of images and pages (though I don't know if I'll really need to end up deleting pages) seems handy as well, just like the hability of dealing with user's IPs, if it becomes necessary.

I'm aware I don't have a fancy user page like every sysop does, so it's not like you can find a lot about me there. I just don't feel very inclined for that kind of thing, but that can change one day. Not much on my talk page either. I also know I don't have a whole lot of creations of my own on Wikipedia, but that's because I prefer to improve others' works.

I usually prefer to post on talk pages under the handle "Kaonashi", but that's just a personal decision. You'll know that's me, either way. My IP is fixed and no, I don't run any sock puppets. =]

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)

A. First of all, I'll look forward on helping any user that requires assistance. I'll probably try to spend a little more time checking articles to see if everything is "fine", which I already do to a certain degree. I'll deal with vandalism whenever possible, with warnings and all that. If I find an image that is not linked to articles (maybe orphaned by myself) that is believed to no longer be necessary, I'll also remove it. I also plan to watch over articles I've done some work on, since I'm already familiar with their subject and the way things work on them, but all sysops must do this, I believe.

2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?

A. I have quite a strange selection of articles I've worked on, so it's pretty hard to say what they are. The first one that pops to my mind is probably everything within the Castlevania category. I've added info and standardized all those articles, and I enjoy them. Also, I never stick with a group of articles for too long as if they're my own sons. I'm always keeping an eye out for different things.

3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?

A. Yes, I'd say I've got upset a few times with certain things I saw. I most times do state my opinions regarding changes in articles, but I don't take it to the last consequences. A few users have stressed me in the past, but I leave it at that. Whether a consensus is reached or not, I end up tolerating. I think that's the way things work on Wikipedia, so I'm fine with it.
