Momo

[edit]

Thanks for adding all the Momo links.

Hello Kopper65, welcome to Wikipedia!

Here are some tips:

If you feel a change is needed, feel free to make it yourself! Wikipedia is a wiki, so anyone (yourself included) can edit any article by following the Edit this page link. Wikipedia convention is to be bold and not be afraid of making mistakes. If you're not sure how editing works, have a look at How to edit a page, or try out the Sandbox to test your editing skills.

If, for some reason, you are unable to fix a problem yourself, feel free to ask someone else to do it. Wikipedia has a vibrant community of contributors who have a wide range of skills and specialties, and many of them would be glad to help. As well as the wiki community pages there are IRC Channels, where you are more than welcome to ask for assistance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. Thanks and happy editing, Alphax τεχ 11:04, 10 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Title of Devil Dogs article

[edit]

This article used to be called "Devil dogs" with a lowercase d, which is no good. You changed it to "The Devil Dogs," which is better. But it would be best if the aritcle were simply called "Devil Dogs" with a capital D. Since, in its current incarnation, the article provides information about the snack product AND the band, "Devil Dogs" would more sensibly apply to both.

I also don't like how when you changed the name of the article (or redirected, or whatever it is you did), you can no longer see the edit history for the article, which might be interesting to some people.

Sorry, I know I'm splitting hairs.--The Fat Man Who Never Came Back 06:45, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Because of your interest in similar musicians, I wanted to direct you to the Ryan Avery article and the corresponding [[1]]. Thanks! PT (s-s-s-s) 20:02, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

St. Louie Louie

[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites that you are affiliated with, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

  • Whoa a little intense response on my talk page! I'm sorry I'm making Wikipedia "Annoying as hell to use" for you. I am just enforcing the rules. I think it's great that you started your own forum, but Wikipedia is not a vessel for you to use to advertise/promote your new forum. The other forum link is only allowed to remain because it is the current dominant forum for St. Louis. Evidence was shown that various city officials post there, and it is widely known and the best source of information on St. Louis. Wikipedia is a source for information, not advertisements/self-promotion. It is against Wikipedia policy to post any external links to sites you are affiliated with, check the links I posted for confirmation of that rule if you wish. I apologize if you feel my enforcement of the rules has upset you. Gamer83 06:10, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey man, thanks for posting on my talk page. Yeah, Gamer83 is a Wiktator. I agree that people like him make Wikipedia a painful place to edit. Apparantly my site having 200+ articles about St. Louis and over 900 unique hits in just over 2 weeks doesn't make it notable...so I duno what will in his eyes. Anyways, lets work together to promote our sites. What do you have in mind? I'd actually looked at the Low Life guide a few times before, you should contribute that info to WikiLou, if it's still kicking around and you have time. I've been planning on making quarter sheet fliers to hand out at events around St. Louis. Maybe we can team up on that? WikiLou on one said, St. Louie Louie on the other? Lemme know. You can also e-mail me at Mijunkin(at)gmail.com. --Mijunkin 20:16, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Video blog article

[edit]

Hi Kopper,

I'm looking to get the video blog article expanded and I noticed you've contributed to the article in the past. It would be great if you could check it out again. It could use some help. Thanks! Pdelongchamp 22:45, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, may I suggest that you look at WP:CIVIL? Personal insult does not help your argument. The reason for the deletion of this article does not depend on my supposed musical ignorance, nor on my personal opinion. It is based on the wikipedia policy in WP:MUSIC. If you feel that this is an incorrect judgement you are welcome to make your point on WP:DRV.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 19:56, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Koppersmug.jpg listed for deletion

[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Koppersmug.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Conflict of interest

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article GaragePunk Podcast Network, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. DreamGuy (talk) 21:20, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Corkball.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Corkball.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 19:31, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

May 2012

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. You're invited to Wikipedia Takes St. Louis!

[edit]

Dust off your Polaroid camera and pack your best lenses. The first-ever Wikipedia Takes St. Louis photo hunt kicks off Sat, Sept. 15, around noon in downtown St. Louis. Tour the streets of the Rome of the West with other Wikipedians and even learn a little St. Louis history. This event is a fun and collaborative way to enhance St. Louis articles with visual content. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hello

[edit]

Hi, this is Garagepunk66. While looking at the edit history, I noticed that you were one of the earliest editors to work on the Garage rock article, and, when viewing your user page, just now, I noticed that you also run the Garage Punk Hideout website. I love reading Garage Punk Hideout regularly (and religiously). It is a great place to get information and read discussions. I should probably get in on some of those threads--if I weren't so busy doing this Wiki stuff. But, over the last year, I've been working on trying to expand the garage rock article, and you'll notice that it has grown a lot. Check it out--I think you'll really love reading it! Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Scouting in Missouri, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Route 66. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
