St. Francis → Saint Francis (disambiguation) – WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT of St Francis, St. Francis, and Saint Francis to Francis of Assisi. PPEMES (talk) 17:10, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- I have no doubt that Francis of Assisi is the most prominent Saint Francis, but is there evidence that this is more likely than all others by this name to the topic sought? bd2412 T 21:57, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Assisi gets more pageviews, but Xavier returns more Google Scholar [1] v. [2] and Google Books [3] v. [4] hits for me. Leviv ich 21:22, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Too many other saints known by this name. Francis Xavier is fairly well known and founded the Jesuits, for example. Calidum 22:10, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose per Calidum. There are lots of them, and the fact that Francis of Assisi is known as Francis of Assisi means that it's not automatic that he's the main dude. — Amakuru (talk) 22:45, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose – Amakuru's argument persuades me. He is known as "Francis of Assisi" and not just "Francis", likely because, as Cal says, there are other notable St. Francises (St. Francii?). This isn't a clear primary situation, so having the dab page primary is probably most appropriate. Leviv ich 02:10, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose per Calidum, also noting that there are many places by this name, while St. Francis is only a short term for Francis of Assisi. Crouch, Swale (talk) 13:55, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
