Chinese!

[edit]

where the heck is all the chinese?!

someone pls add it for all the station names, line names, towns, districts, etc, and replace the various maps with BILINGUAL maps.

it is beyond annoying to have to look up every last station one at a time. and who wants an english-only map? even the cheapies they hand out to tourists are fully bilingual! 66.105.218.38 (talk) 06:43, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Problems

[edit]

Here seems to be some problem in this page,

1.Should Mei Foo station formerly called Lai Wan?

Yes

2.Whampoa Garden and Ho Man Tin of Kwun Tong Lane is not current station of the MTR, is it in the original plan of MTR and be stated in the list?

It is just a proposal by MTR, as an alternative to KCR Shatin-Central Link's Whampoa connection.

3.Same for the case of Sai Ying Pun of Island Lane.

It is an extention of the Island Line, and will be the interchange station to the West Island Line.

4.How can be Fortress Hill as the interchange station of Tung Chung Lane?

The North Island Line will connects the Tung Chung Line at Hong Kong and Island Line at Fortress Hill. The current island line will become parts of the Tseung Kwan O Line, by linking North Point and Tin Hau, and of the Tung Chung Line, by linking Fortress Hill with the North Island Line.

5.South and West Island Lane has not been even started the construction, should it be listed here?

The two lines are proposed by MTR.

6. As concluded, should all stations only in plan be listed in this page?

Let's discuss. I have no objection for listing proposed projects.

7. Do any Wikipedian agree that the Chinese names for stations should be put up?

I think it is a good idea, I have made a test with the East Line. Feel free to let me know your thoughts. Not sure if the COlumn header is the most appropriate. Fsjmax (talk) 09:49, 23 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed & In Planning

[edit]

(Assuming that editors can read Chinese) Are we going to add in more proposed stations as listed in 港鐵車站列表? There's an awful lot to be done because they'll be constructing and realigning the lines, terminus, and stations. OhanaUnitedTalk page 17:58, 8 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, we can, but I do not think it is necessary to put the proposed lines and their stations, as they do not exist yet. --Jackl 01:43, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do you know that some lines (such as Sha Tin to Central Link) are already confirmed and parts are already constructed ahead of time (such as the Ma On Shan line is preparing for the extending link to Central)? It seems kind of foolish not to include them when the government already signed contract and decided a deadline on when will the railway be completed. OhanaUnitedTalk page 01:13, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major revamp?

[edit]

I am a bit shocked to find this list going major revamping. Actually what the final look would this page show? I am a little against removing the former templates, as they ensured uniformness between all lines on this page, and also same style on each line's page. – PeterCX&Talk 06:31, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We are changing to aim for featured list status. OhanaUnitedTalk page 01:13, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FL and merge

[edit]

Are we still pushing this article to become a featured list? And are we merging List of MTR station codes with this article? Personally I agree with the merger. Jackl 13:14, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since the codes were added to the article, I propose a simple redirect. Moreover, I'd like to see the list in one big table instead of separate tables for each line, consistently with other similar articles. --Ita140188 (talk) 03:14, 25 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits / future stations

[edit]

Hello 220.241.108.17 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) and Hydrogen1218 (talk · contribs). Regarding your recent edits, perhaps you could make a new article called "List of future MTR stations"? It is difficult or impossible to include future stations under the headings of each railway line because some lines will be joined together in the future. Furthermore it is not appropriate to include South Island Line stations under the heading for the Island Line because they are separate lines. The only similarity is the name. Lastly you have included North Island Line stations under the Tung Chung Line section, which is speculative - the final design has not been announced and furthermore the Railway Development Stategy 2014 recommended against the scheme whereby the Island Line is absorbed by the TCL/TKL. For this article I think we should stick to the current stations and cover future stations in Future projects of the MTR or a new list of future stations. Sectioning

[edit]

@Citobun and Wylve: Should the separate lists be merged into a single list? The lines already have their own lists of stations, so the current layout could be duplicating their function too much. Jc86035 (talk) Use {{re|Jc86035}}

If found it useful to have a single list when counting the stations. I don't think there's a good way to include it on the main page without too much redundancy so I'll include it here instead.
