What are homology rings? I would think that homology is only defined in abelian categories. How else can you divide by the previous map's image? AxelBoldt

This ought to be a disambiguation page, with links to "homology (mathematics)" and to the (more well-known?) "homology (biology)". That it is not, can only mean that nowhere near enough biologists are found among Wikipedians. Since there are probably 20 times as many biologists as mathematicians, it shouldn't be that hard to recruit them by publicizing Wikipedia among them. Mike Hardy

Most biologists don't realize that you can edit wikipedia because they're used to having journal subscriptions... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.9.15.119 (talk) 02:07, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

So, does homology in biology have anything to do with homology in math at all? I figure they may be vaguely related by some form of topological data analysis. I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm feeling really confused about it. Daviddwd (talk) 23:09, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
