There was some false information, such as that 'each' falseata lasts 12 beats, most falsetas are more than one 'compás', I will add some decent information about Soleá tomorrow.

Changes to Intro

[edit]
  • Removed reference to moorish melodies. Although most flamenco styles are "reminiscent" of moorish melodies, this has to be qualified as it's otherwise misleading. While most scholars acknowledge an influence of moorish music on flamenco, others claim that influences such as Jewish, Byzantine or even Indian (through the influence of gypsies) may have shaped its Middle Eastern flavour. More to come on this, as I plan to work on the Flamenco article.
  • Added Seville to the list of possible places of origin.GemmaMS 19:38, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

[edit]
  • There's now quite a lot of info, so I've removed the stub note. I'll review the article over the next days, as there are still details that can be improved. GemmaMS 13:31, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On the illustrations for metre

[edit]

Instead of using musical notation, as it is only understood by people with formal music training, I've preferred to use those drawings. However, I may add their "translations" in musical notation later on.
