Image copyrights

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ParaPL.gif. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Edwin Stearns | Talk 21:11, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Piorun

[edit]

What was Piorun's home port in Poland then, if not Gdynia? Poland had a very short coastline at that time. PatGallacher 16:16, 2005 Feb 10 (UTC)

VWN en WCN

[edit]

Beste Pkmink,

WP:POLMIL

[edit]

Hi there! You might want to know that the good ol' Wikipedia:WikiProject Polish Army has been restarted, this time as WP:POLMIL, a part of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history. As the main tasks of the previous WikiProject have been fulfilled (both Polish-Bolshevik and Polish Defensive wars are now featured), we might want to start yet another quest for some holy grail. Any ideas? Halibutt 14:47, 7 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Czesc Halibutt! Thanks for letting me know, unfortunately I haven't been able to allocate much time to wikipedia in general since the birth of my son, although I have been writing Poland related articles on the Dutch wikipedia, incl. some translations of your terrific articles (Armia Krajowa, Warsaw Uprising). My intention is to slowly start making more contributions again on enwiki, write/edit some articles on Anders' Army and Polish Navy (granddad and great-uncle were in it). ORP Sep, S.P.K., 5th Kresowa Div are all on my (long overdue) to-do list... Pkmink 12:27, 15 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help?

[edit]

I am very much interested in the artist Rien Poortvliet but there seems to be very little information available on him in English. Thus I ask the two wikipedians who list themselves as speakers of both English and Dutch if they could be wonderful and helpful and many other good things and please help add to the page? There seems to be a fair amount on the Dutch Wikipedia... Russia Moore 21:19, 12 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I invite you to Polish Wiktionary because you know a lot of language (also Polish)./Zapraszam Cię do polskiego wikisłownika, bo widzę, że znasz kilka języków (w tym także polski). Mógłbyś się nam przydać np. jako ekspert od holenderskiego. Pietras1988 TALK 16:21, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Polish-1st-Armd-Div-Badge.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Polish-1st-Armd-Div-Badge.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 08:39, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Image:Virtuti Militari.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:Virtuti Militari.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I8 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is available as a bit-for-bit identical copy on the Wikimedia Commons under the same name, or all references to the image on Wikipedia have been updated to point to the title used at Commons.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:Virtuti Militari.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. - AWeenieMan (talk) 21:42, 17 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
