I believe this should be called "War of attrition". A battle is, by definition, of limited duration, and attrition requires an extended period of time. Deb 19:03, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Cold War?

Should the Cold War be added as an example of an allegorical War of Attrition? Particularly in the Regan years, the "losses" were the financial cost of the Arms Race, with the US being able to better absorb them.
