Early life

[edit]

@Countercheck: Neat one to cleanup. And the Met is cool too. While I'm sure I've forgotten several things from the days of taking art history courses, her mortuary temple isn't one of them. What a large thing to seemingly know so little about. Anyway: The "early life and family" section having only one fact has me try to think of another one, and should it not say something about her father Thutmose I? It is not unusual to recapitulate what is in the lede, for it is unusual to have citations in the lede, a problem easily resolved by recapitulating with a citation and elaborating in the body. Breasted Quote follow-up

[edit]

'Hatshepsut is, according to Egyptologist James Henry Breasted, "the first great woman in history of whom we are informed."'

-- Fair enough. And she might have been deified by the Greeks as Athena(Athena Saitis)(Athena Onga/Ahkh)(Athena Tritogeneia-third gen from Aahotep II), with statues linking her to Ethiopia, commemorating her voyage to Punt.

Of course her grandmother, Aahotep II, was Artemis, or Io, and worshiped in Egypt, Greece, and Canaan(3 continents), and might be linked to Asherah, the wife of God, in the bible; and her Grandmother, Aahotep I founded the new kingdom, and might have been conflated with the other 2 great women. 2601:58B:E7F:8410:64F0:AFF4:2F14:9CB8 (talk) 03:37, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
