I have no idea who "Amos" is, listed as a band under October 9 but I changed the link to Amos (band). I couldn't find the band on Google, and if Tori Amos was intended I would think they'd have used her first name, too. If anyone figures out who the band is, the Amos disambig page would appreciate an update. :) -- 09:09, 18 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Official Services in Schools Around the Country?
[edit]I was in first grade when the attack happened, and we had many assemblies afterward. Some of them involved speeches from local clergy, from the principal, etc. Many involved singing patriotic songs (I specifically remember "God Bless America"). Our teacher passed out American Flag pins. (By the way, I went to school in Maine, not New York City).
Are any of these things widespread or nationwide? If so, I think they deserve a spot in the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.253.96.140 (talk) 21:58, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Transwiki Proposal
[edit]Doesn't this article belong on the September 11th Wiki instead? See VfD precedent at VfD/Casualties of the September 11 Terrorist Attacks: Pentagon I honestly haven't got the gall to put it up for VfD.Halidecyphon 21:13, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)
There is almost no discussion here of the official WTC Memorial

West Coast
[edit]This may be inappropriate but I just need to say something. I watched the world trade center movie and bawled my eyes out. I couldn't imagine people working at the golden gate bridge or anywhere in the SF Bay Area like my uncle.
This is how I felt... a lot of others my age & in my area were feeling the same, many kids at the time my age didn't know what had happened until we got to school at 8:00AM and jokingly our friends would say they blew up the pentagon. To us that was french. After seeing some sort of east coast perspective on TV we thought some people were overeacting. We had a vigil in my small town and I didn't get it but to a lot of age 12-17 y/o Northern Californians we were confused.

Physical Memorials in and around New York
[edit]Multiple physical memorials have been created in different locations in New York City and in New Jersey. Is it appropriate to create a subsection for these? The subsection could have links to discussions of individual physical memorials such as the Staten Island September 11 Memorial. Chesterct (talk) 22:40, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Text and/or other creative content from September 11th Remembrance flags was copied or moved into Memorials and services for the September 11 attacks with [permanent diff this edit]. File:911 Memorial SI jeh.JPG Nominated for speedy Deletion
[edit]An image used in this article, File:911 Memorial SI jeh.JPG, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

Memorials in other countries
[edit]Hi! Can an editor add verifiable information and pictures using reliable resources which are about memorials in other couintries or the article should just be about memorials held inside the US? Thanks. Maadikhah (talk) 15:49, 9 July 2016 (UTC)
- I don't see why not. Several memorials outside the US are already mentioned. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 09:38, 10 July 2016 (UTC)
Funeral Services
[edit]The ordinary meaning of the title word "services" would include funeral services. Since 2,996 people died on 9/11, one would expect there to have been quite a few funeral services. Yet this article says nothing about funerals or burials. If funeral services are deemed beyond the scope of this article, there should at least be a line near the beginning to this effect. Perhaps a mention of how many funerals and burials were even possible could also be included. Page Notes (talk) 02:52, 26 March 2017 (UTC)

September 11 Wiki
[edit]For anyone searching for information (as I was) about the former WMF project "In Memoriam wiki" that had the sep11: interwiki prefix and was sometimes informally referred to as the 9/11 wiki, this is collated on meta at m:Sep11wiki.
I don't think this would make an great see-also from this article, but it is an obvious place to look so hopefully this talk page section will be found by search engines. Thryduulf (talk) 14:27, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

A Missing item
[edit]There is a Church in Albuquerque, NM that has two steel beams in a chapel. Not sure if it is relevant here, only because I see no other mentions of pieces in religious buildings.

Cape Canaveral monument moved
[edit]I was recently on vacation in Florida with my girlfriend, and we were in Viera Beach and happened upon a 9/11 memorial featuring an I-Beam from one of the towers. It is the one that was originally at Cape Canaveral, moved on May 27th 2017. I have pictures of the plaque and the new location. 64.154.109.252 (talk) 18:37, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
