[edit]This needs moving to St John's College, but that page is a redirect.
- Why? Darkcore 05:07, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- "St" is not common usage in the US (it is always either abbreviated to "St." or left as "Saint"), which is why this disambiguation page is in this namespace. "St" or "St." would not really be applicable, and they both (obviously) mean "Saint". Darkcore 15:46, 21 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- To be fair, I've never heard any of these colleges refer to themselves as "Saint John's College", whereas all use the name "St. John's College" in all of their literature and documentation. Thus a redirect to "St John's College" or "St. John's College" is justified. Impi 22:14, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)
St John's College, US
[edit]I've been fixing links to this page, and St John's College US (and variations) always seem to refer to St. John's College (Annapolis/Santa Fe), so much that it seems to be standard. I haven't found a single one that should go anywhere else, and there's things like this Category:Wikipedians by alma mater: St. John's College, U.S. and this Category:St. John's College (United States) faculty. Maybe the redirect ought to be changed, or those pages ought to be moved? CarrieVS (talk) 17:13, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
"and there's things like this and this." Something wrong there; can't make the links appear. They should be to "Category:Wikipedians by alma mater: St. John's College, U.S." and "Category:St. John's College (United States) faculty". CarrieVS (talk) 17:48, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks, CarrieVS, we are belatedly fixing those now! To make a visible link to a category, put a colon just inside the square brackets. – Fayenatic London 15:02, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
